Counseling for families
Hosparus, through our Bridges Counseling Center, offers an array of counseling programs for families. Parent consultation, individual and family counseling are available to families anticipating loss or who are coping with a loss that has already occurred.

Activities for children. The Bridges Counseling Center, a program of Hosparus, offers a wide range of activities for dealing with grief and loss.
We offer the area's most comprehensive and only ongoing programs for preschoolers, children, adolescents, adults and families. Led by professionals and trained volunteers, these programs help grieving individuals and families understand their experience of grief and provide practical and helpful tools for coping with loss. For a list of current Bridges classes, call (502) 456-5451 or toll-free at (888) 345-8197.

Individual and family counseling. Child and adolescent specialists can provide an initial assessment and, in cooperation with parents, design support that best fits their individual and family needs.
Grief Connection. What are you waiting for? Get connected! The Grief Connection is a peer-based program for families with children ages 6-17. The Grief Connection is a one-of-a-kind program where children can meet other children, other teens and other parents who share in what is one of the most serious and important times for their families. Combining education with expressive techniques, the Grief Connection is a special way for families to complete some very important work.
Expressive therapy. Whether used in individual, family or group counseling, expressive therapy provides relief through the physical expression of powerful thoughts and emotions. Once outside, one can look at what is there and understand it from different perspectives to discover new insights. These same techniques that help express and discover, also provide concrete skills to use later when continuing to work through grief.
